Puppies are beginning to fill out -- just about doubling their birth weight. Dark pigmentation showing on yellows (nose, ears, toe pads). Much more active. Click on the following images to enlarge
More than triple their birth weight! Some making attempts at walking. More pigmentation. Eyes ALMOST open. Very active during their waking moments. Too big to feed all at once, so eating in shifts by color. Click on the following images to enlarge
Walking ... actually almost RUNning. Eyes open and responding to sounds. Definitely very active (when awake), and beginning to show "personality". Beginning to eat "real" food (puppy food soaked in water to make a mush). First formal portraits! Super active. Coming when called. Devouring puppy food, and attacking Mom who does not get a chance to lie down to nurse very often. Starting to drink from a water bottle. Growth is accelerating. These puppies are VERY even tempered. Getting pretty good about using the "potty area" of their whelping box. Enjoying excursion "outings" to the X-pen in the yard -- the fresh air is a real thrill, and that green stuff on the ground is ... well ... different. Teething on soft chew toys and anything else they can find, including each other! [How they survive this chewing-on-each-other-stage we've never been able to figure out!] Click on the following images to enlarge
Puppy Camp (out on the grass with the "agility course") is a real hoot! Now wearing REAL collars. More purposeful play. Willing to "explain the rules of fair play" to a sibling who plays too rough. Eating more crunchy food and relying less on mother Maida. More actively playing with toys. Everything is open to chewing -- those "shark teeth" are hard on the box-cleaner's toes! Venturing out into the world more. Individually or in
groups have had "lightweight" trips to church, therapy visits, a birthday
party, and some meetings. Getting to be quite a handful to carry out
to the "puppy camp" in the yard. Taking up a lot more space in their
box. Lots of healthy play. Getting ready for a Vet visit, Puppy
Evaluations, and a trip to the Ophthalmologist. Eating and drinking a
lot more.
... and counting. Introduced to swimming! Lots of
"outings". Gaining weight at an accelerating clip. More than 100
different people have visited/handled the pups. Eye exams all turned
out fine. Vet gives them a clean bill of health. Puppy
Temperament Tests give them excellent ratings across the board. These
guys are a joy to be with. Most moving on to new homes Labor Day
weekend.
This will be the final installment, although some pics may be
added later as the puppies grow. Most pups went to their new homes
around Labor Day, and their NAMES are being revealed. Pictures show
families and names of pups where we know them. Some headed straight
for puppy classes. Check back later for some updates.

the collection -- we forgot to take one.]
