Help Save a Life!
Dog Scout Troop 171 has undertaken a Community Service
project to provide special Oxygen Mask sets to local firefighters and
emergency responders. These special oxygen masks are designed for
dogs, cats and other small animals for
emergencies such as smoke inhalation and other respiratory distress.
The Need is Great
We have canvassed the first responders throughout our
area and found that NONE of them have these masks. Several
representatives have said "If only we had one of those when ..."!
We hope to change that. "Human" oxygen masks are too
broad and do not deliver oxygen in an efficient and controlled manner.
These masks fit more naturally to a pet's muzzle and allow for
inhalation and exhalation through directional vents.
There are 3 sizes in the kit to accommodate most dogs and cats.
The sets cost $80 and are not available on the open market.
Dog Scout Troop 171 will be holding fundraising events and publicity campaigns to draw
awareness to the need for these devices.

Santa will be held Saturday, Nov 29 from 1-4 PM at the Redfern
Training Center. Contributions can be made
in any amount. We accept checks (Payable to Redfern Canines) or
