Training Opportunities

We are in the process of expanding the training opportunities available to the public.  The following list includes both currently available options and those expected to be available in the near future.

Group Class Settings

These sessions are offered in a class setting, limited to not more than 6-8 dogs.  By limiting the number of dogs per class, we are able to provide more individualized instruction.  Class sessions normally run 5-6 weeks.

  • Beginners Class (Basic Training Principles/Methodology)
  • Puppy Classes
  • Puppy Playtime
  • Canine Manners Class
  • Youth/Jr Handler Class (restricted to children and youth)
  • Special Interest/Focus Training (Individual class periods deal with specific tasks, such as Heel, Come, Stay, etc., determined by the specific needs of the class members.)
  • Rally-Obedience (several levels)
  • Agility (several levels)
  • K-9 Sampler -- A fun introduction to the various kinds of dog competition, including Obedience, Conformation (Breed Show), Rally-O, Agility, Flyball, Freestyle ("Dancing With Dogs"), etc.  Goals are to help people understand what they are watching during competition, AND to help decide whether a specific type of competition might be something for their dog.
  • Tricks Class
  • Loose Leash Walking
  • Kids Klub (A bi-weekly class for kids [and their parents] only)
  • Doggie Day Camp
  • Conformation Competition 101
  • Obedience Competition 101 (Novice exercises)
  • Obedience Competition 201 (Open exercises)
  • Canine Good Citizen Preparation
  • Therapy Dog International Preparation

Individualized Instruction

Some training sessions are best provided in a one-on-one setting, based on the specific needs of the dog and the handler.  These opportunities are custom-designed, and held either at the training facility or at the handler's home.  Instruction usually involves a minimum of 3 weekly sessions.

  • Private Training in Principles and Methodology
  • Remedial Training or Consultation to address issues specific to the dog
